Panic disorder: Panic Disorder is a serious condition that around 1 out of every 5 people might experience.
People with this condition have feelings of terror that strike suddenly and repeatedly with no warning. Other symptoms of a panic attack include palpitations, chest pain, sweating, and a feeling of choking, which may make the person feel like he or she is having a heart attack.
Generalised anxiety disorder: This disorder involves unrealistic worry that reoccurs even if there is little or nothing to provoke the anxiety.
Social anxiety disorder(social phobia): This involves the person being overwhelmed and self-conscious about everyday social situations. The person often worries about being judged by others and feeling embarrassed and ridiculed.
Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD): This disorder causes disturbing thoughts called compulsions and often result in the person feeling like they have to perform certain rituals or routines. For example, a person may feel the need to check the front door is locked several times or wash their hands often for fear of germs.
Anxiety is a result of an imbalance of the brain chemicals serotonin and noradrenaline, which are involved in the control and regulation of mood.
