CBT tips for anxiety

CBT otherwise known as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy is a talking therapy. It can help you learn to think and behave in a new way and manage problems that you have.

It is often used to help treat anxiety and depression, but can also help with other mental and physical health problems.

How it works

It looks at your current thinking patterns to evaluate how they may not work for you. If your behaviours and responses are negative, so become your feelings and thoughts.

Particularly with anxiety and depression, negative thinking can become an automatic response to daily situations.

You are shown how to change the negative patterns so new positive responses, feelings and thoughts are encouraged.

As with anything that is regularly done or practised, it can become a subconscious positive reaction for you over time.

Uses for CBT

CBT has been shown to be an effective way of treating a number of different mental health conditions. It can also improve how physical conditions are dealt with as well.

In addition to depression or anxiety disorders, CBT can also help people with:

CBT and Hypnosis

Hypnotherapy works with the subconscious mind to effect changes in responses and behaviours. Consequently, the subconscious mind can learn how to create new pathways within the mind which are positive and work in line with the changes required.

CBT techniques can then be used to work with the conscious mind and enhance the work being done by the subconscious mind. CBT and Hypnosis can work very well together in the overall plan of change.
